The End

This is the end of the semester, I have completed an entire unit. Presented my lesson plan which was more than scary. It made me have some doubts about teaching younger children. I definitely know I want to work with middle schoolers, not that I don't like the little ones but they just seem like a lot of work. But the lesson plan went as well as expected with the behavior cards turning everyone into the most terrible kids. It taught me that I will probably never finish my lesson plans and that little kids are easily distracted. I like the fact that everyone had the chance to present their lesson plan we got to see what works and what does not work. We also learned how to handle situations that might happen in a real class. lesson plan was so different even though they were all about teaching language arts. This class was very hands on learning rather than just reading about it. I appreciate that way more than reading from a textbook every night.

It was an amazing experience and I'm happy I did my freshman year.
I learned a lot about teaching and using everything around you; like computers, journals, the smart-board, centers and just being creative. I can't wait to start doing my sophomore field and see the units and lesson plans come to life. I know I want to be an English teacher now I just need to figure out what grade I want to teach. :/

Everything I've Done...

So far..

I have made a podcast, twice
Written a lesson plan
and
Made effective questions...

I've done a lot without even noticing..next step is to make the lesson plan with my partner Anitgua. I'm very exciting to see how our presentation goes, I'm also excited to make more lesson plans.

Effective Reading Questions

1. What is a spider?

2. After reading the title of the story, what do you think the spider will be busy doing?

3. Pretend you were one of the farm animals, what would you ask the spider to do? and why?

4. In the story, the spider has a lot of friends. Do you have a lot of friends?
How would make more friends?

5 Did you notice an insect in the story and what was it? What happened to the insect at the end of the story?

6. Why do you think the spider did not stop building her beautiful web?

The Last Day

This our last day in the computer. I'm not happy about leaving. I liked being able to work on the computers while in class and making podcasts. Although I'm kind of happy to leave this hot room and be able to sit in an actual desk.

This was a new experience and I'm happy to keep experiencing new situations...

Day 2: Pod Casting Reflection

Pod casting was fun. Me and Antigua read our whole story, it's was just a rough draft. We are going to re-read it to make it perfect. We even re did our introduction. It was fun making a podcast.

Dr.Luongo even gave us examples of how to use podcasting in class. How parents would love to hear their children reading in class and podcasting makes that possible. Another example is letting children podcast their homework. For example, you can give them the option of writng sentences or podcasting sentences.

I think podcasting is great way to communicate. It allows interaction to occur that normally would not happen. I cannot wait to make another podcast.

Day 2: Pod Casting

Today is the second day of podcasting. It has been a while since my last class but i think i remember how to podcast.

Hopefully me, and my partner, Antigua can read some of our story. I am excited to see the full outcome of the podcast and the lesson plan...

First Pod Cast

Me and Antigua made our first pod cast today. We messed up our first time and had to re-do our pod cast. It was fun creating a pod cast and listening to it. I will look forward to creating more pod casts this semester and hopefully use pod casting in the future with my students.

It was a simple process just sign up, make a pod cast, and publish it.

This is our pod cast:
